Can't you try big tube amps. There is a pair of Opera Consonance Cyber 800 mono block amps for sale over on Agon for about $1800 I think. I own a pair and they are really giant killers with a min of 78wpc in pentode. You have to hear them to believe what I am saying. Otherwise if you must use SS then perhaps an older ARC will do the trick. You liked the CJ so perhaps those too although they are a little too polite for me.
