That is certainly not logical to me. If you 'do it' right ... all the subs do is extend the lower frequencies that your 1.6s seem to produce. (Whether you do this by bringing the subs in, very low (and merely augmenting the Maggies) ... or bringing them in higher & rolling off the Maggies. This is what I do.)
