RE: Vincent Audio SP332 Amp into my Magnepan 1.7is

A big difference between the XPA-1s and the XPA-2 besides being mono blocks is all of the filter capacitors are wired in parallel giving you I believe 180,000uF of capacitance! You will never run out of current and I have to believe that makes a big difference. I considered getting a pair of DR1s but I'm not totally on board with switch mode power supplies, but I could be wrong about that. Yes the T700s are Vincent mono blocks that run the first 10 watts in class A. My experience with this SP 332 tells me that covers a lot more operating room than I thought. But they cost 4,000.00dollars. Who knew that I was probably only using no more than 20 watts of a 500 watt amp! That's not to say any dinky little amp can handle the Maggie's. Besides the tubes in the front end of the SP332 I have to believe that the 80,000uF of capacitance is what makes the 250 watts into four ohms work.
