Well..more like I dragged a stash of vinyl someone left out in the streets of the Sunset district in San Francisco. Found it on the corner near my aunt's place. Some interesting stuff in there. A LOT of Russian operas which I have yet to go through, Roger Williams stuff (waaaay before my time but I'm sure he is an original "crooner") and some great classical stuff. Even got a Berlitz record on Beginner Spanish! About 30-40 LPs in total. Now I've got to clean them all and listen to them. The interesting thing are the 10" (12" is a standard LP size, right?)records. They sure are thick (I'm sure I can serve up dinner on them even). Was this format popular back then as I haven't seen any LP like this during the 70's or 80's? And why did they stop producing them? The quality on these 10" records are a LOT better (at least they're a little more solid and not flimsy). Anyway, gotta go clean some LP's tonite and see what Polka music sounds like. HA! |
