Hi guys

I've been using one of these for the last two years. As I was replacing the velvet strips on the suction wand yesterday, I decided to open up the bottom of the machine as well to see if anything needed cleaning. Mine is a Mk 2 and doesn't have the water level sensor. It sure needed cleaning as there was a layer of grime everywhere.

Cleaning done except for what I assume is the air filter which is a yellow block/pad. It looks a bit grotty and a picture of it is below. It seems to be made of some kind of porous stone and I'm hoping for some advice on how to clean or replace it. Or maybe it never needs replacement? Maybe it's similiar to the kind of stone that you get in home aquariums aerators. Hope someone can help please.

regards
Jack

I have a mk2 too. No complaints so far but maybe after a while i should clean the inide of the machine like you did. I contacted the Okki people here in Holland a while ago, they responded to E-mail. Good luck!

Hi Freek,

Thanks. I'll give the email a go. BTW, when I removed just the platter I found that the grub screw that held the platter mount to the motor spindle was loose. It fixed the "noisy" motor!
