Any paper thin, stylus friendly "safety" slipmat for 45s?

My Rega sounds best with the stock felt mat but the exposed felt and stylus don't go hand in hand when when playing 45s. Is there any paper thin "safer" alternative I can just put on top of the felt mat without affecting VTA? Thanks.

A piece of onionskin paper, an LP, and an Xacto knife. If the onionskin gives you the willies, perhaps sacrifice a premium inner sleeve, like MoFi.

Made a DIY cork table mat years ago in the same fashion, after seeing the prices being asked for cork and cork composite mats. Worked just fine, and saved $100+.

Herbie's Way Excellent ships with a 'paper thin slip mat' that I used to cover the platter until I bought a plexi cover. Check with them to see if they'll sell you just that.

I don't use any sort of platter mat on my Clearaudio Performance DC Wood table with its POM platter. It sounds just great as is, but I wonder if I could improve SQ with the proper mat.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
