 By coincidence, I just finished reading trombonist (and writer, steel company president, hip scene maker, etc.) Michael Zwerin's book of anecdotes "Close Enough for Jazz" that discusses how this recording came about along with some amusing and not entirely complementary stories about the Orchestra of the U.S.A.
