Looks like Linn has a new cartridge coming.
Interesting that they went with a sapphire cantilever. No specs or US pricing available yet but said to be 5500

Interesting. The world feels somehow more complete with another $8k cart in it.

Seems I heard something about an update/upgrade to the Radikal being in the works too?

Linn is smart. They saw too many of their customers going for 7k+ cart (myself included ) and did not want to lose out on that opportunity.

There is also said to be new version of Radikal. I wonder if it's any better than the original issue. I wasn't too nuts about it ( still staying with Naim power supply )

At some point I'll try a Keel again since I switched over to a Linn arm.

New Radikal 'hyper-accurate' speed management:

~ Sustained rotation closer to 33rpm..."rpm than ever before, thanks to a hyper-accurate and responsive FPGA-managed motor control unit, Linn's most precise and responsive MCU ever.

~ New housing decouples the motor from the deck more effectively.

~ Precision engineered motor produces ultra-smooth rotation.

~ All new 6-layer board facilitates shorter signal paths, smaller componentry and minimal overall noise, via dedicated ground and power planes.

~ Quieter, regulated supply rails have the added halo effect of improving sound quality from Urika/Urika II phono stages.

RRP £4250 in Akurate casework, £6500 in Klimax casework

...and all that for a motor coupled through a rubber band to a platter on a wobbly subchassis? :)

Shouldn't the sustained rotation be closer tp 33.33 rpm? Nt, posted on September 24, 2021 at 13:54:53

I have a feeling he copy/pasted that from the Linn user-group board.

I guarantee Linn themselves would not make a faux pas like that.

I don't know. You're right, I shouldn't assume.

Apologizes to Kuma for taking things for granted.

Okay, green one. You got me. A check of Kuma's registration suggests I was most likely correct in my incorrect assumption.

Absolutely correct, just asking,, posted on September 24, 2021 at 19:20:49
My user name is Viridian because I am green with envy over some of the great rigs that you folks are running. Love LP12s. Hope you are enjoying yours.
