We got 'um.

Third party white belts.

And now the real deal, the new 'not white', reference, ELBT belt.

REGA!

BELTS!

When Ghostie bought his P6 table I think last summer, he got the new belt like what you just bought. When I bought mine in April 2020, Rega was still selling the tables with the white belt, or rather, Music Direct had them with the white belt and eventually, those sold out, and they came shipped with the new square/rectangular black belt.I saw Rega had already updated their site to reflect this.

Personally, I have not noticed any real issues with the white belts, so far.

This is the first I have heard EBLT belt, I may have to check one out down the road.

I have been using the Edwards Little Belter for about 2 years now.

John , I just checked the Rega website and there are TWO new belts. Advanced and Reference. The Reference is pictured by Ivan above. The Advanced was not fitted to Planars' 1-6 and Reference to Planars 8 and 10 until March this year so Ghostie may have an upgrade available to him.

I really question whether boutique belts are necessary or that the color of the belt would make any change to the sound of the TT, but I've read a few articles about belts for Regas (and other TTs that use glorified O-rings as drive belts) and it's a morass. Some of the aftermarket silicone belts are too flexible, etc..
When I need to replace the belt on the Planar 6, I'll get an EBLT from Rega because that's what's on there now.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.

I was a Rega dealer for many, many years. I've personally owned so many different Rega tables, I've lost count.

Over the many years, I have tried just about every belt ever made. I liked the Rega White Belt, but also really like the belts from Isokinetiks in the U.K. They're cheaper and seem to work just as well. YMMV.

I'm not making any claims about sound quality, never heard my deck with any other belt than the one it came with.
Did have a Rega clone back in the day with a generic belt that was obviously defective and it had real wow factor if you get my drift.

So you had your Planar 6 supplied with an EBLT belt back some weeks before June 2020. However Rega say that the 2 new belts were not supplied on any turntables until March 2021. Well the belt that you had may have been EBLT but Rega now refer to the latest EBLT belt. It looks like progress has been made subsequently.

See link and also note the superior wow and flutter figures.

The belt pictured above was just shipped to me by Hi-Fi Heaven in the US. I had ordered a 'white' REGA belt from them nearly a year ago but they claimed it was out of stock and they could get no more from REGA as REGA claimed they were coming out with a 'new' upgraded belt and they asked if I would like to keep my order in.

I said yes and about a week ago Hi-Fi Heaven finally got the 'new' upgrade belts in and the above is what they just shipped.

Guessing the new belts are just reaching our shores (as upgrades, not as parts of new TTs).

Rega is such a confusing company., posted on June 17, 2021 at 16:18:42
All the suds over the EBELTs, and then there is the renaming of the turntables Planar this and Planar that, the same as the names many generations ago. Or is it P this and P that? No one seems to know. The marketing department must've been hung over, "Hey Nigel, let's call it a Planar 3 just like in the 80s, but don't write it on the front, just put P3. That should keep the Yanks guessing. Oh and keep them speculating on which belt they received with the Planer......er.....P3."

And then there is the later Exact which was named....the same as the previous generation Exact.

Not that Rega has a corner on the "confusing the customer" market, Naim clearly takes the gold ring in that competition.

Guess that's the belt I'll buy when I have to replace mine. If I have to. If the "old" EBLT is still available, that's good enough in my book.

I think that the "old" EBLT is no longer available . There are now two EBLT replacements , "Advanced" (that now comes fitted to the P/Planar 6) and the "Reference" which is now fitted to the P/Planar 8 and 10 and which is the one which Ivan pictures.

Analogue Seduction seems to have the best price for the ELBT Reference Belt online; however, they cannot sell Rega products to U.S. customers, unfortunately.
