I am hoping that someone here can help a friend of mine identify a cartridge body he has. It is certainly an ADC, but it looks to me like the stylus has been replaced.

The stylus body says that it is a QLM-II, but my fading memory recalls that the QLM had a gray body, not gold. Are there any ADC experts here who can steer us in the right direction so he can get the correct stylus for it?

Thanks. As I recall, they were decent cartridges. I haven't owned an ADC for decades, so my memory might be failing me.

Looks like an XLM or XLM Mk II to me. XLM's were fairly popular so that would be my guess.

(I had a ZLM which was black. Very nice cartridge.)

I am pretty sure that it's an XLM too., posted on May 16, 2021 at 10:14:30

He has two of them for some reason, but no stylus for either of them. They don't seem to be easy to find either.

I just checked LPgear and they seem to have replacement stylii for ADC XLM, XLM Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV. (I actually don't remember there was an Mk IV.) They claimed the stylus is made by a Japanese manufacturer; I guess most stylii these days are from Japan. I have no experience with them though.

If you get one, please post your experience. I'd be interested in getting an ADC again if we have decent replacement stylii.

Thanks for the info; but as my original post states, they belong to a friend. I am just helping him to identify them. I don't know if he will keep them or sell them. Cheers!
