I just became a Mk3 owner. The table, which is in beautiful condition, did not come with the platter handle or the platter lock wrench. Any suggestions on how to get things in place? Anyone know the thread of the handle?

The table also came with a rubber gasket that, I believe, goes between the table and the plinth. Any reason to use? My plinth is from VinylVista and has some suspension.

Finally, use the table ground or not? My arm will be grounded.

Thank you in advance!

I never grounded the table and never had any problem with hum. But I do use balanced phono from cartridge through to the speakers (XLR intput to balanced phono stage, balanced amplifiers, etc.)

I agree with Des, Bill Thalmann is terrific. However, I don't think he would make a handle for the platter or a platter lock nut wrench; see below.

Thanks. That exact thing occurred to me about 5 min after my post, although I reached out to JP at Fidelis Analog.

Of course--I would've given you my good friend Richard Kreb's contacts for all things SP10 MkIII--but he is not in the US.

Good Luck

So, in a sense, Richard Krebs has a presence in the US. His mod makes a notable positive difference, once you are familiar with the before vs the after.
