and, in fact, it was a Grace F9 Ruby, Peter Lederman told me to pack it like I wanted it to survive a nuclear holocaust.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.

No tracking number since it's coming from England. It was shipped 21 days ago.

I had the Ruby version, and I loved it until I wore it out. I kept the body around for years until I sold it about a year ago to a guy on Canuck Audio Mart who was going to buy a Soundsmith replacement for it.

I have been using a Grace F10L MOMC cartridge on my Linn Sondek since I wore out the Ruby, and I really think that Grace made some of the finest cartridges ever.

I agree..... If I had to choose a high-output cartridge, it would be the Grace F-9E..... (Although I preferred the standard over the Ruby.)

I had a Ruby and didn't like it as much as the aluminium. I've had a Grace for 20 years and when I saw a NOS stylus on ebay, I bit. The new SS is my last stylus purchase but one never knows for sure.

The SS is the best 200 bucks I ever spent so I could easily recommend to anyone if you ever find an F9 body buy it and order the SS, or order the SS now and look for a body before SS stops making it.

But I have a few moving coils that I really enjoy. I just couldn't justify buying another stylus when I have several cartridges that are just sitting in waiting. I am really glad that SS has picked up the Grace torch though. I see that they are using the Grace logo on their replacement styli. I wonder if they bought the rights to the brand.

I have a few MC's also but I'm spinning the Grace now as it is quite addictive. There seems to be quite a few addictive qualities with vinyl that all of us know, and when I switch tables to the MC I end up listening to that one for a while.

For those of us who know vinyl and have collections - it's a long known lovable reference that digital only people don't understand which probably explains the updating ad nauseam.

There is a funny thread over at Canuck Audio Mart that was started by a guy who was trying to get hi-rez audio from his laptop and Chinese DAC. Since his first post, he has flipped between getting a different DAC to thinking about stand-alone digital players and back. In the mean time, we just listen to our LPs. Most of us do have several cartridges, and maybe a few turntables or phono preamps, but we usually enjoy them all.
