Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone on this forum has tried a Decca cartridge with Nottingham Analogue turntables and their arms. I use NA Dais TT with 12" Anna Arm which is a uni-pivot & effective mass of 15.5 grams. I remember reading somewhere the late Tom Fletcher use to to demo Decca carts with NA TT's ?. Anyway feedback on this combo is sparse so I ask the question.

Cheers Johno

Anyway

I'll be interested in any replies. I have a Decca 4RC that I'm thinking of trying in a Fidelity Research FR-64FX arm on a slightly modded HW-19 table.

In my experience with Decca, there's no uni-pivot that isn't a great match. I've tried a few and I always breath a sigh of relief because they track so well.

All I can do is relate my experiences with various Decca/London cartridges.

I went through six or seven different arms trying to find the sweet spot with these cartridges. Despite some folks reporting success with, for instance, Graham arms, I could not make any of mine work with the Grahams. An SME 309 is just too light. A Sumiko MMT with some mass added worked with a Maroon, but not with a Jubilee. Then I went through a series of much greater effective mass Audio Technica arms (1005, 1009) the higher mass seemed to improve performance of all the Deccas. Then I found a Dynavector 507 (25 grams effective mass) and VOILA!!!!

All I can say is to give it a try. But dont be surprised if it does not. With MY Deccas, mass is king.

This has been similar to my experience except I was able to make both a Morch DP6 and VPI JMW arm work very well with a Super Gold. Mostly I've used an SME M2-12R which consistent to what you said required me to swap in a 21gm Fidelity Research headshell that I also lined with lead tape to make it even more massive. Adding weight is usually the key for the arms that are imperfect.
