I ran into this kit while looking for Kits on Direct Drive motors. It's the Langer Direct Drive Motor with Motor controller kit for DIY tables. It's not cheap but seems well designed.

Does anyone here use this kit or know of anyone that has? I was looking for some feedback on it but not much is out there about the kit.

Why would the shape suggest it's a coreless motor?

If you happen to click on the link and read the description, it tells you it's a coreless motor.

Good luck,
John Elison

Lew, this gives me some ideas about using this with a heavy hardwood base and a nice tone arm. : )

what made me think it is coreless is the discus-like or flying-saucer-like shape which is characteristic of all coreless turntable motors I have seen, starting from the original Dual coreless motor, of which most of the rest are variations on the theme. The coreless motors in my Kenwood L07D and in my Victor TT101 are similarly shaped.

Hello John,

I think this looks quite interesting.

Is there any info on pricing?

Best regards,

Hi Brian,

I think you'll have to contact them for pricing. All I know about this company is what I've read on their webpage at the link below:
