Hi folks, can anyone recommend the best replacement? Is Jico the way to go?
TIA

Tracked great, did a great job on sibilants, but IMO made the cartridge too bright.
If it were me, I'd try to score an NIB Shure stylus, preferably the HE version.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.

EVG has nude elliptical synthetic diamonds that I will be trying...., posted on October 19, 2020 at 13:25:48
I am in the minority of not having had a good experience with two different SAS stylii on my V15Vmr, so I am done with Jico.

See link below to an interesting discussion:

I'd try the Jico Morita wooden stylus if I had a V15 III.

I'll be interested to hear your results., posted on October 20, 2020 at 07:28:09

I've tried the old MIJ EVG stylus for the M91ED. The plastic grip didn't fit right the stylus was OK for twelve bucks.
Also tried LP Gear's ellipticals and JICO's hyper-ellipticals and found them seriously lacking. The $35 elliptical stylus for the M95ED damaged one of my jazz albums.

Like you, I am a Shure fan. Still have a type iii with original HE stylus, V15V Pro S, two M91s and a few more. I have Pfansteil elliptical and 78 stylii for the 91s as well as an EVG. The Pfansteil elliptical sounds very sibilant and I do not use it. The 78 is quite good and the EVG is OK, but not as good as my original ED stylus for the 91. I would love to find a modern stylus that is close, but the SAS stuff is just waaayyyy too bright for me.

My understanding is that cultured diamond is harder than natural diamond - science experts please correct me if I am just parroting fake news here. So I think that I will give that a try. The fact that the stylus is nude mounted is enough to make me take the plunge without any other considerations.

$32 plus shipping seems worth a punt based on the reviews. Link., posted on October 20, 2020 at 08:56:43

I nearly got drummed out of there because I was critical of the ones I tried.
Your link took me to a Top Gear clip, by the way.

Link corrected, sorry. But that is a cool clip. Nt, posted on October 20, 2020 at 10:46:48

I've ordered a Shibata from LP Gear.
