I'm not one for buying these UHQR albums, but I sprung for this one 5 minutes after getting the email notice. Had to have it. Lost my original copy of Aqualung some years ago and have always missed it. I'll find out how good it is in October.

Great, great album. I've never heard a copy with great sound.

...second only to the Thick As A Brick tour. Excellent on record. Unbelievable in person back in the day. I have to copies of the MoFi, nothing to write home about.

Glad I looked at the board today! I didn't get the email so I was unaware this had gone up for pre-order. Got one. Looking forward to it. The UHQR Axis Bold As Love is incredible. Thanks.

AQUA1 082564616604 - This is the famous 2011 Steve Wilson remix. The upcoming UHQR could be great and the Classic Records 45RPM Red Box Clarity Vinyl reissue (ILPS 9145-45) is certainly also very good. If you want a really good sounding reissue the 2011 S Wilson reissue is the LP to look for.

It was around $20 when new and should be available from lots of sellers. The new UHQR is expensive and the Classic Records reissue has a very steep price. I own the Classic Records reissue and will be getting the UHQR. I also own the MoFi reissue. The Classic Records reissue is great but of all the reissues I have I enjoy the 2011 S Wilson reissue the most.

The moral of the story is that you do not have to spend lots of money to find the most enjoyable LPs.

What do you find objectionable about the 2011 S Wilson reissue? The copy that I have is excellent and I have a lot of reissues including the Classic Records 45 RPM Red box, MoFi's reissue, a japanese pressing, a quadraphonic CD-4 pressing, an original US pressing and some more floating around.

The Wilson reissue is very enjoyable. It may not be the last word in excellent sound quality but the Aqualung master tape is not exactly an example of great sound.

Nothing. It's good. Silk purse and sow's ear. I will not spring for the
UHQR.

I've got one. I'm just wondering how rare it is.

I have heard Jethro Tull live, but I have not heard a good sounding copy of any Jethro Tull albums. They do not have the clear and open sound of good pressings. So, I have pre-ordered this one in hopes that it will sound better than any of the others. My fingers are crossed.

I decided to cancel as I'm not sure that the masters are worth the effort. As others have said here, the JT albums had great music but poor sound quality. If the reports are good after release, then I'll reconsider.
