 Hey cactus'. I know you come across a lot of 78 rpm sleeves and I think you're a fan of the graphics. I have a number of 78s myself for the music and also for the graphic art.

The sleeve pictured I found over the weekend and it is one I have not seen before. I was intrigued by the caricatures. Have you seen many of these and similar? Do you have an idea of the year produced. Just curious because I know you see a lot more of these than I do.

 I would guess late 20s to early 30s. The Columbia Viva-Tonal process started in 1925. The two black face guys look like Amos n Andy who started in 1928. The clothes on the lady dancers also look like outfits from the 20s. All guesses of course.

 That's a new one for me! I'd agree with the other comment, it likely dates to the late 20's or early 30's with its promotion of the new electric recording technology. Very unusual to see multi-color printing from that era.

Here's a couple Columbia sleeves from roughly the same era. "Royal Blue" were pressed in blue shellac, a move to help spur sales during the great depression.

 I know that some R&B LP covers were released regionally. It was easier to sell "generic" covers in the South as opposed to LPs with the groups in full "color" on the cover. I don't know if that translates to sleeves as well.

 On 78, I have some but not a lot of R&B and Jump Blues. Mostly common stuff like Louis Jordan, Joe Turner, Ruth Brown, Johnny Otis and so on. Here's a few:

 Good to hear! If I recall correctly, that was a small batch of mostly Country Western records, right?
