Which turntables turn your head? I love the looks of the EAT forte turntable.

Here's a review with more information....it's expensive.

RE: for me that's an easy choice... no.1 and no.2, posted on July 19, 2015 at 16:21:44
No# 1

Oracle Delphi mk vi
Any version, mk1 thru vi, the camera always likes it.

but I kind'a have a thing for one of these:
No# 2

A Thorens Ambiance. Somehow, this one hits the right notes even before the stylus drops in.

That's way too close to $20,000 buckeroos. I need that kind of money fro something more serious. Like Spider Man #1 in #6 condition.

AIUI:

* if your belt-driven TT has 1 motor then the ideal position for this to be, for a pivoted arm (and, for example, the LP12 doesn't follow this theory), is that its pulley is directly in front of the cantilever, when the cartridge is in the middle of its arc across the groove annulus.

This is so that the 'pulling force' of the belt is not 'interfering with' the side-to-side motion of the stylus in the groove.

* if your belt-driven TT has 2 motors, then these should be arranged so that their pulleys are directly on a line through the spindle (so that the belt-pulling force is cancelled out).

The TT shown does not have this - hehe, so either my theory is wrong or they haven't optimised their configuration.

But it looks like it is held together with a large rubber band. No thanks.

My experience with VANA that imports these tables has not been a good one neither has the Austrian manufacturer. I needed some parts for a EAT Prelude table, pulley wheel and anti-skate weight, both just dissed me and did not respond. So folks, I would suggest you pass on this brand along with other items VANA imports and go with long standing reliable companies such as Rega that always responds and supports their customers!
