I recently retired and starting to get around to a whole list of "to-do's". one of the items on the list is to get everal pieces of Maraantz gear restored; I do not do that work so I am looking for recomendations from fellow inmates.

I've searched a bit but find no recent discussions; the gentleman I have used over the years for that type of work (mostly mcintosh) has quit the business and gone fishing.

Any suggentions would be approciated!

I would cross post over in the AudioKarma Marantz forum. I had my Marantz 250M fully restored and upgraded by Bob Speece. Unfortunately I think Bob is out due to illness. Anyhow, there are a few VERY!!!!!! qualified guys over there that are true Marantz wizards and really love this stuff.

Catrafter and rBruckner are two that come to mind.

Here's an idea of how my Marantz was rebuilt.

All my Msrantz gear is 70's era solid state.
I'm a Mcintosh MC240 tube lover (currently have three) but thats another story.

I assume he is still at it since he has a web page up. I haven't sent him any Marantz gear, but he used to be the recommended Marantz guy. He did service a KLH 8 for me quite a fews years ago, and I was very happy with his work.

How is Mike? I had some work done by him back in the 90's. A real tuner guy. Does great work, but again, I haven't heard from him in years.

He prefers the simpler jobs, no restorations.
Guess Dill doesn't want to tell me who his buddy is...why, Dill?.
I have a bunch of gear for him.

No, not Audio Specialties. I'll check with him and get back to you. He only does Marantz.
