My Philips CD-60 makes a whirring noise on the middle tracks of a disc which can be heard over the music when at its loudest. The noise is barely audible on the first and last tracks. The sound, while variable in volume, has a constant frequency of about 600 Hz. Is the noise servo-related, and can anything be done about it?
