A week ago, I was scanning ads in Letgo, a garage sale type app. I searched for Klipsch and was surprised to find a pair of Heresy Speakers listed for $450. Always thought about a center channel for my Klipschorns so I made a ridiculous offer of $225. They agreed to my price! Met the lady seller & husband at a local storage facility. He said "We downsized and moved into a small condo & no room for stereo equipment". The electronics were already sold. The speakers were bought by him new in 1973. Could not wait to get home.

I have a second system setup in the upstairs Great Room consisting of big TV, Marantz 1070 Amplifier, and two Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers with signals routed from an Apple TV allowing both Video and audio play from a lower level server. JRiver Media Center is accessed remotely by iPhone and iPad sending either to Apple TV boxes in 4 locations.

i replaced the Bookshelfs with the Heresys, turned the electronics on, sat down & took a first listen. Wow! What a surprise. A highly presentable 3D emerged with Frank Sinatra singing live at the Sands Hotel. Played Classical, Rock, Pops, and Jazz. Then I realized the subwoofer was still on so I switched it off played several tracks, then switched it back on. The Heresys needed a little help to sound like the Klipschorns but ... they did with a little subwoofer assistance. Unbelievable! Realized it was 2AM so reluctantly went to bed.

Yes I know, at least change the capacitors in the cross-overs. But ... I'm going to listen for a couple months as they sound better the more played. Tonight, I'm bringing is my Dynaco ST70 Tube Amp for a little more warmth. Also have a pair of Dynaco Mark IIIs. At 79, my ears are losing some notes. I don't care. It's so much fun .......

Heresy's always a go to recommendation for me. The first time I heard them was in our store in Bellflower California - 1973! Cal Stereo.

I believe the caps used in the Heresy crossovers are motor runs. If so, they are virtually indestructible and are metalized polypropylene. For a significantly better capacitor, you would have to go to with film and foil.
