I recently received two 6" strips of the 3M cld product from a very nice manufacturer whos amp I am evaluating. He passed them on because he prefers a product called Sound Coat and didnt have a use for it anymore. Anyway, I'm wondering what to do with them. I'm thinking of putting them in the cd player. It was suggested I just put them on the inside of the lid, centered, side by side. I was also thinking this might be good stuff to put on some other parts of a cd player as well. Has anyone got any ideas? I thought DACs or other ICs that sit in a socket might benefit. I have seen small lead strips placed on DACs by a manufacturer. One that comes to mind is the YBA Audio Refinement cd player. That player also has some other interesting little tweaks in it - for a stock player that is. FunTac on the input mains wires. Anyway, whats a person to do with constrained layered dampening??????
