Lots of threads lately about how this or that outlet or outlet cover will
improve sound quality. And I can't take advantage! I've got everything
plugged into a PS Audio Dectet! I guess I'll just have to endure the
obvious inferior sound reproduction ...

Mike, you seemed to have overlooked that this device is plugged into the wall. With near certainty, IMHO, a wall plate would effect the sound still. And of course, the wall plate screw.

there are plenty of people like you who don't feel an inclination to delve into these kind of subtleties or mess with what we already have as it already soothes the savage beast to no end.

A person can become obsessed with these and may find themselves spending so much time doing this and that, back and forth, and again and again, and then the next thing you know....the phone is ringing and it's the boss and wants to know why your not at work.

The PS Audio Dectet is a multi-outlet power line conditioner.

The recent discussions have been about the use of an AC outlet wall plate for an AC outlet installed at the wall.

What is your PS Audio Dectet plugged into, Mike K?

The wall plug is a Hubbell 5262, the wall plate is the usual plastic
household outlet cover. I actually would try a carbon fiber wall plate
if it didn't have to come from China and take forever to get here ...

The particular eBay seller provides prompt shipping.

AA Inmates including myself received the product rather quickly.

Does it improve your sound? Or does it look better?

You can change one of the outlets in that PS Audio deftest but that would void any warranty it may have., posted on October 9, 2020 at 14:45:44

But if you sure willing to give a try, I would change the wall outlet first to a Hubbell HBL 8300H. Then you see if you like it and just leave in if you do. The Hubbell will sound a little dull at first but will open up and sound really nice once broke in. This will not cost you much foe the 8300H outlet. You then after you like what you hear with wall outlet, you can change one of the outlets in the PS Audio to a Hubbell or one the more expensive outlets. I recommend starting out with the 8300H on the wall and in the PS Audio Dectet, then move up from there or stay if you like what you hear.

I changed out the outlet in my PS Audio Ultimate Outlet and IEC connector, that was a huge improvement. I put in a Oyaide R1 outlet and it's still in there. The PS Audio outlets are good there are better ones than those.

Hey Fred,

I don't know. Its still sitting in the package! I got a new pair of headphones and am supposed to be comparing them to my old pair and am holding off with the cover till I get the comparison sorted. It could be a while since I have lost interest in the new headphones because they are bloody uncomfortable...
