GIK 244 bass traps

I have one 244 left from about ten years ago (sold the rest a few years back) and decided to get a few more, which I received last week. The new 244's are about a third of the weight as the older version. Anyone have a clue as to why? "Man, that mouse is Awesome." - Kaemon (referring to Jerry, of Tom and Jerry fame)
