Or so Andy Bloom opined on Barrett Sports Media. Which may explain the dearth of new tuner postings on Radio Road. Not as many listeners nowadays, who don't listen as long. Nor as many households with conventional radios, either. CQ para Sactown

...There is nothing worth listening to, at least here.

But then so is our whole commercial culture. I am fortunate to live where I have a choice of three community radio stations, one NPR (or actually two given their new classical channel,) one college student station, and even one pirate station in my neighborhood. If a relatively poor community like New Orleans can manage this so could many other places.

Vegas NPR has a good sounding classical station.

Not the strongest signal from where I am (about 20 miles from the tower - all the way across town) but if I used an outdoor antenna I could solve that issue.

If NPR had more donor support I expect there would be more classical FM stations still broadcasting. I've not ever been in a market where NPR broadcast that did not have an FM classical station running...

I just started listening to High Definition, (HD), FM Radio in my car and it sounds pretty good. There are at least six HD radio stations in Lexington, KY. There's one Classical, one Blues, one Country, and the rest are Rock and Popular music stations.

Happy Listening!

Unless things have changed HD stands for hybrid digital and not high definition.

...listening to in those markets. The local (Chester, SC) FM "oldies" station WRBK 90.3 is just barely listenable and then only if I am checking out a tuner/receiver to see if it is functioning properly. RBK's idea of what constitutes "oldies" and mine must be two very different opinions.

Hi belyin,

I moved not too long ago, and being at the bottom of a hill that stands between my house and the main cluster of stations to the south, I thought I may as well give up on radio reception altogether.

Fortunately, a relatively new community / public station has begun operation nearby, and I have LOS reception to it.

I used to enjoy the public radio when I lived in the big city to the south, but had become disenchanted as it seemed to be getting too big to offer eclectic and varied, listener-driven programming. I am hopeful this new station will bring back that magic.

We have some worthwhile radio stations and with good quality.

Anyone else?
