Anyone have a Service Manual for a Marantz 20B? If so, I would appreciate getting a copy. You can send it to me digitally or I am happy to pay for shipping and copy charges. Thanks in advance.

You might want to try posting at the Marantz group below. Good luck!

I gave it a try on the other forum. Thanks for the tip. I would have thought someone would have this Manual.

I may soon be in the market for a used FM tuner. I like vintage audio gear and am attracted to the Marantz tuners of old that had that large, horizontally-oriented tuner knob that spun with silky momentum. I could do without that if something better sounding is out there.
So, I am asking which models of Marantz tuners are considered the best, what year they were made, if know , and about what they cost on the used market.
Thanks!

Going from memory here. The 20 was the transistorized version of the 10 - both were designed by Dick Sequerra(sp?).

There was an original and a revised version. Difference was in the IF stage. It's in a shielded box and had different terminations. I had a manual with info on both. Now a friend has it and which I'll try to retrieve.

Really nice tuner BTW. However if you can't do a sweep alignment - don't touch ANYTHING

Charles

Hifi Engine has the 20 Service Manual for free (with registration) download. The unfortunate reason I know this is because the scope on my 20B suddenly stopped working. I don't think it is the tube, and I was told that mostly likely the problem is the caps or the transformer (hopefully the former) on the scope PS board. But the board carries high voltage, and I am in no way qualified to mess with it. Unfortunately I don't really have a tech in my area (New Orleans) I trust with it, and I hate shipping it.
