All I can saw right out the of the box and with 15 minutes of warmup these are way better than the JJ 300b's. I liked the JJ's but the Linlai WE300 replicas are just more of everything.

I will let them break in and then give a full report on what and how they sound. If the the NEW Western Electric are better than these...OMG can only imagine how nice they will sound.

Who knows, right? There is the possibility WE will not be any better sounding. Perhaps you can borrow/audition the WE and compare for the rest of us..

For the price and sound I'm hearing right now, I'm good and have no urge to spend anymore.

I have 35 hours on these tubes and they are starting to change and open up nicely. Start to hear more depth and wider soundstage. Bass is starting to come in now which at first was very thin/weak.

Nothing worse than tubes that are breakin, posted on March 25, 2023 at 19:40:17

Sorry, but you're hearing what you want to hear. There is not even one documented case of a tube providing more bass as it ages.

is what I hear with playing the same tracks of songs from when I first put the Linlai WE 300b's in, it's not much more but the bass is better than what it was when I first put the tubes in. Even the mids have gotten better and highs smoothed out.

Happy listening!

Seriously? I have heard tubes, as they settle. . , posted on March 26, 2023 at 13:53:24

opening up and get better in all frequencies and some don't. The Elrogs I have opened up nicely but needed a few hundred hours.

iBasso DX300MAX Ti. Focal Utopia and Stellia. iBasso SR2. Mr. Speakers, Ether II, Voce stats. Manley, Absolute headphone amp. LTA MZ3, Z10e electrostatic amp. Many other headphones, amps, cables etc.

There may or may not be an objective reason for the difference you believe you're hearing, but tubes do not produce "better" bass with age. That's a fact.

You want a link to prove that tubes wear out?

everyone that uses tubes knows that tubes wear out. I'm talking changes over the first few hundred hours with brand new tubes. This is not the first time I'm hearing it, it's happened before with other tubes I have used that were new not NOS or USED already. Those others I never heard changes like this, that's why I'm even puzzled but just reporting what I'm hearing with these Linlai tubes. The JJ 300b's I got new when I first built this Transcendent Sound Masterpiece 300b preamp changed slightly too but nothing like this, they just tighten up a little but not much.

Agree 100%. My experience is with new LinLai 845DB tubes and my Gallo Ultimates. For the longest time, tho probably less than 100 hours, anyone could hear the pathetic bass of these 845 tubes in my SET monoblocks. Then it came on in force and is now quite stellar.

No, I'm not hearing things that aren't there.

Maybe the tubes are developing a higher internal resistance and the damping factor is degrading. Of course, that wouldn't be "better" bass, just more poor quality bass. Whatever you guys are hearing, you can believe it's not an improvement. Frequency response doesn't get better with age.
