A month before I was born, I do know it was a very good year.

I started playing with vacuum tubes in the '60s. If only I had known then what I know now. I still remember being given a frequency meter the size of a small refrigerator that was loaded with 45s. Back then, you could buy 211s and 845s on the surplus market for a few dollars each. 807s and 1625s were 50¢ or less.

Ad states $3.50, not 50 cents. You could not buy a tube for 50 cents in 1955. If found now, NOS would likely cost $250 each.

$3.50 in 1955 would be $39.07 now.

What I said is that 807s and 1625s were 50¢ on the surplus market in the '60s. I know, because I was buying them for my ham radio hobby with money I earned working after school.
