Hello Tube Forum.

What do you make of these? The plate structure looks American, like an RCA. They don't look like Mullards to me. There's another picture of a "Tungsram 6ak5" on ebay, and what I can see of the plate structure looks similar.

Here are some pictures of the Tungsrams I have, which look a little different in a few ways from yours...- I haven't done much research on 6AK5 varieties and variants, other than the HeadFi forum regarding which ones tended to perform well in the Little Dot amp. I never had a Little Dot, but used a couple of Yaqin amps which used 6AK5. I never got around to trying these Tungsrams in those amps prior to me giving those amps away to friends, so I'm unable to provide feedback of how they sounded to my ears in that amp.
Anyway, I hope the photos to follow (I seem to usually be limited to posting 1 photo at a time) will be helpful to your research!
And, I hope that you're enjoying your Tungsrams in your application!
Sincerely,
Brandtacious

Thanking you. I like more comparisons to drawn on.
Sorta similar, sorta different. Hmm.

While taking my whole chain into account... I can safely say that mine are airy and detailed, impactful. Lovely texture, no harshness. I'm tempted to get some silver plate RCA's to see how similar they sound.

Like this: https://www.tokopedia.com/tabungaudio/nos-rca-6ak5w-5654-6j1

That's how shiny mine get in some good light.

In the amps I have experience using 6AK5 variantswith (Yaqin 38s and MC30L) using EL34 power tubes), the best results to my ears in my system, my room, my listening preferences, etc., etc., the AEG/Telefunken version particularly shined aspreamp tubes, while the Russian Vokshod [spelling ?] version with rockets on the boxes really shined as driver tubes.
You'll know when you have found the magic tube for your system...-

Just saw the current price of the AEG/Telefunken on the auction site - they've always been a little higher than most, but not that high...- I used to get them from Brendan at Tube World Express and he always had reasonable prices compared to others. If you're interested in that particular tube, maybe reach out to Brendan...-

Oh I'm happy with the tubes. My mission is to know exactly what they are.

Are these the RCA you're looking for? How many does your application use?

That looks about right.

I've gone back to puzzling over the codes on the side at the moment.
'C2E'... the guy who sold them brushed me off with the fact that some of them are 'E2E' instead, and 'E2' is tungsram date code for 1965.
Okay. Then what about C2? There is no C2.

I'm no expert at Tungsram codes, but I took a quick look through some of mine, and the Tungsrams I have use only a combination of two characters, for example the"kd" in pictures above, rather than a three character code such as "C2E" or "E2E."
In short, I just don't know what your codes mean. This isn't the 1st time I've been stumped regarding tube codes. Folks on this forum are very knowledgeable and helpful regarding these types of questions, though. Perhaps consider reposting or changing the subject to something like "Help With Tungsram? Tube Code?" Or "Help With Mystery Tube Coded C2E Labelled Tungsram"might help get a wider audience/response in terms of unlimiting the subject from only EF95 to folks who know may be familiar with a wide range of tube manufacturer codes but who may not have a lot of experience or interest limited to the EF95 tube?
Anyway, best of luck with your research!
