you are wrong, sorry.

MY belief: it is just the brand name that is still kept living and the right to use was obviously bought by a vendor. what you see are relabelled reissues from china or russia etc. in new printed boxes but not vintage.
(any other thoughts?).

Go to the bottom of the linked page and click on "contact us". At the very bottom of that page read the directive referring inquires on consumer goods to Germany.

if they still had all the equipment necessary for manufacture. The recipe for cathodes is quite substantial and probably has a few substances that are outlawed in Germany. It looks highly doubtful. If they could make 12ax7's like they use to they would sell massive amounts, some for hifi but mostly to guitar amp makers.

Just having a German address means nothing.

They are JJ made. At least they were when I bought some of their 6922 three years ago.

Try JJ's frame-grid E83CC. You might be surprised how close they sound to Tele.

They are not real Telefunken tubes and never will be. What has gone on with the name is a company in Connecticut bought the rights to use the Telefunken name. It was mostly for use regarding their legendary microphones. This new USA based Telefunken company is making brand new tube microphones as well a doing restoration work on vintage Telefunken stuff. As for the tubes they are a total rip off. They are simply JJ gold pin tubes that are cryo treated and have a Telefunken label slapped on and the price more than doubled over what the same JJ version costs.

Years ago I sold 5 VF-14 tubes (the tube in a U47 microphone) to that guy.

We had a pair of U47 at the studio along with a pair of church mics plus C12s U67s sony c500As sony c37As and the list went on from there. It was amazing and made me look good as a recording engineer. The vintage neve console didn't hurt. The fairchild 670, the pair of lA2As and the Pultec EQs. I sure miss that place!

I got the full market price at the time for those tubes.

The VF-14 tube we got from the Connecticut outfit for U47 mic in the studio is superb. Engineers I know whose work I admire, and who have years with the classic Neumann mics, say their mics are excellent. Their products seem to be very high quality faithful recreations of the originals. Having worked in a studio where our sole U47 was out of commission for over a year, thanks to the unavailability of the tube, I'm very thankful they are doing what they do.
