I know I have a couple NOS stashed away in boxes but since the move, no luck finding them.

At the prices NOS are getting, maybe I keep looking?

First they came for the dumb-asses
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass

I have tried quite a few. Like the Gold Lion U77. Nt, posted on August 14, 2020 at 11:20:59

I put in a pair of Sovtec's to try a few months ago and haven't taken them out yet.

I love the Gold Lion KT77's so I was keen to try their version of GZ34's but a friend told me they are the same as the Sovtecs except $20 more expensive. I dunno know for sure but they sure look alike... in pictures anyway.

They are NOT the same tube. They are significantly more durable for one thing. They also are quite well constructed. I've also noticed that the voltage drop is VERY consistent from tube to tube and from plate to plate in any given tube.

I'm not much of a tube snob but I really haven't found any new production GZ34 that were reliable.

The Mullards on the other hand will just not die. The one in my Dynaco must have 35 years in it. And I still have the same pair in my 300b monoblocks since 2003.
Sounds like chicken!
