Hey Amphead:

Since I know you like the 6SN7GT. I thought I would test your NOS knowledge. Have you ever seen this tube? I purchased them about 20 years ago. I believe them to be of Chinese origin by the design, and by the name " Gold Aero" I note that there are currently tubes from China on ebay named " Gold Aero " But no 6SN7 of any kind.

I believe Rick, who owns Allegro sound, rebranded tubes "Gold Aero".

He holds the trademark for "12ax7B".

I bought 10 of them years ago from him.

They are marked Gold Aero, 12ax7B, Allegro, W. Germany

They look like Mullards but who knows?

His website is linked below.

You should ask him about your 6sn7s.

I looked at tons of pics of Mullards and don't see the resemblance. BTW, the link you suggested didn't show in the thread.

You should reply to his comment, not to your original post, or he won't know you're replying to him.

I wasn't suggesting that those 6sn7s were Mullard.

The 12ax7B that I have that Rick rebranded "Gold Aero" look like they might be Mullard.

Your tubes could be anything. I think Rick rebranded a lot of different tubes made by a lot of different tube makers.

Here's the link to Rick's site.

Gold Aero was a re-brander. Looks Chinese. If it sounds good it is good. :-)

Well regardless of what they are- I have tons of 6SN7 tubes, and I'm not that fond of Chinese 6SN7. If anyone is interested in these, they can have them for the price of shipping and packaging. Shall we say $10 total? That should cover the shipping and paypal fees. Where else can you buy 2 NOS tubes for 10 bucks!

AFAIK, Mullard made ECC33, not 6SN7GT, posted on June 19, 2017 at 22:16:58

Guts looks different than your photo.

I'm am still learning the AA forum formula. Very curious software they use. Most forums I have been a apart of simply list the comments in the order they are written. I wish AA had a button one could click that would allow a different format.

I would include the ECC32 as well, made by Mullard which many use as a 6SN7.
Mullard was actually a brand of Philips, which made a lot of tubes for Brimar including some labeled as 6SN7GTs. These are presumably true 6SN7GTs. By comparison the ECC32/33 have different electrical parameters and are not 6SN7s. I am told to be cautious using them because ofthat. It is sad because I really like the sound of the few Mullard ECC32s I have.

Just got the two tubes today, and thank you very much. I believe that these were made by RCA back in the day, maybe Chatsworth plant. That is where my Gold Aero 5998A were made. Have not had enough time to tell for sure, need more burn in, but these are sounding very good. Bass is solid and mid's and treble are nicely balanced. Gold Aero when made by RCA were part of their Premium line. These are indeed sounding very good. Such a deal, could not believe that no one jumped on these. $10 shipped and paypal besides even if they were not this good could not pass, an now really glad I did. Sound very similar to RCA Silver label Gt's from 1948, not quite as warm. Thanks again!

Glad the tubes worked out for you. I can't figure out why no one else wanted them either. I guess most folks are to suspicious that the deal is so good, something must be wrong, or something like that-

Now to all those that missed out on the deal, it's the old saying EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
