 Just a heads up for anyone interested in trying these tubes. The KT88 is the same tube as the PentaLabs KT88SC and comes with a 6 month warranty. One of (if not the best) current production KT88s on the market. $191.84 for a quad of these. I have also tried the 6L6gc and 12ax7 and they are pretty good too.
No affiliation with the vendor other than being a very satisfied customer in the past. Sale on till April 30.

 Do you think the Preferred Series sounds better than the Gold Lion KT-88? If so, in what way?

 Well I did have a bad experience with the GL reissues several years ago as related here back then. Have not used them in a few years but I am thinking of giving them another try soon.
The Pentas (Preferreds) are very alive sounding with good dynamics, very natural midrange, excellent imaging and good bass without too much of the KT88 midbass bloat. A "NOS" sounding tube that is never bright or harsh.
AND they have proven to be very reliable in my Rogue amp over the past 4 years.

 I had heard there were some issues with the GL early on but not so much now. Currently I have the GL in my PrimaLuna as I've been tube rolling lately trying to hit a sweet spot. While I like the GL and they have some very nice qualities, I have heard the Pentas are one of the best KT88's.

 Get a quad At the sale price. You will not be disappointed. Comparing them to the GL in YOUR rig is the only way to really know.

 I ordered a quad of Preferred Series from the Tube Store. After placing my order they informed me that they only had matched pairs and have to wait 2-3 weeks for more stock to come in. Just my luck.

 That's unusual. Must be a run on them given the lower price.
Please report back once you get some time on them. I think you will be pleased.
