I need to buy a few of these but I'm not sure what it's real nomenclature is. Any help would be appreciated.

That's very similar to what the OP showed, but his is a screw terminal to power plug adapter. The one you linked to is a screw terminal to 1/8" jack.

Alpha Al,
You are certainly correct there. These are for supplying power to the security cameras at our church. 3 of the 5 cameras no longer work. We contacted the vendor and he has been putting us off for more than 6 months now. He's too busy just now, or they're waiting for the parts, etc.

So, I decided to try to mend them myself. Squirrels have chewed the wires in two on one of the connectors. Birds have built a nest directly on top of another and on the third inoperable one, the terminal block is gone altogether.

So now that I know the nomenclature I can order some of them and attempt the repair myself. I am concerned however about the red wire(s) in this system. I removed the jacket on the black wire and there is a (very) small braided wire inside. On the red wire though, when I try to remove the jacket to expose the wire, it seems that there is no wire there! It is as if there is just some sort of graphite (?) substance or else some wires that are so fine I can't see them. :-(
