I'm seeking one of the chassis that Triode Electronics made for Shannon Parks' diytube.com St35. I built my 20 years ago on a simple Hammond chassis, and while it still sounds great, I've long regretted not getting one of those nice chassis when they were readily available. I could also be interested in an unbuilt Triode kit for that amp.

The Parks power supply didn't call for a choke, but by having a larger chassis made, you could add a choke.

I also remember reading that Shannon Parks tried to incorporate Dave Gillespie's Enhanced Fixed Bias onto his circuit boards, but wasn't successful. By starting with a larger chassis and hard wiring, you'll be able to add the EFB, which I highly recommend. Distortion will be lower, and your output tubes will thank you.

Asylum Trader ads are free, so you could run your "chassis wanted" ad there, where more people may see it.

It's a good suggestion, though I was hoping just to swap my parts over. But if adding a choke would make the amp quieter, that would be a good thing too. It's not super noisy, but it's not real quiet either. I kind of prefer setting bias myself, I'm old school.
Where do you go to get a chassis made, and what does that cost? I will post in the classifieds too.

Landfall Systems is one possibility. They cater to the DIY community.

Actually, the user does set the output tube bias with EFB. That's the "fixed" part. The link to the full article is below. Improved measurements and longer tube life aside, my subjective take is that my SCA-35 sounded better after I installed the EFB, and only cost me a few dollars in parts.

I second Triode Kingdom's Landfall Systems recommendation. I know Pete Millett likes them too, which is where I first heard about them.

About two yearsago they were on special at http://www.triodeelectronics.com

Try emailing them and check if they still have some floating around.

Thanks, I hadn't thought to do that, but they just might.
