Has anyone built this circuit? if so, opinions wanted. How does it compare to Frankenstein2 which utilizes an IT between Low mu section of 6EM7 and 300B. How does this stack up vs. cascade/cascode and pentode driven 300B?

I think the sonic results will be highly dependent on component quality and synergy. In fact, that will have a much bigger impact than actual topology.

Implementation...yes. Especially if a pentode driver is used. Can be really good, but mismanage/mis-match g2 voltage to the load and all bets are off.
cheers,

personally, I would ditch the 1st section of the 6EM7 and rework it with 6J5 (or half of a 6SN7). You don't need as much gain as the first section provides, and I think the 6SN7 type sounds better. It's the low mu section that is the star here.

I have worked up a PP 300b design with a 6J5/6EM7 (low mu section only) driver with an interstage after the 6EM7 to couple and split phase. Maybe I'll have time to build it when I retire...

Back for a bit again. Ignore me if you like.
