Power supply caps, in this case 22uf and 700V. Clearly intended for PCB mount. Apart from PCB mount how does one mount them? Glue? Velcro? I would love to hear how others with practical experience did it. TIA

If you are not using a pcb, then Goop works well and I have used it to suspend motor run caps. Once I apply the glue and position the cap I rest something heavy on top like a hammer and wait about 12 hours for the glue to cure. There would be no problems with light weight MKP caps.

The other good thing about Goop is that the glue seal can be broken but does require some force. The metal motor run caps survive but I am not sure whether the Vishay will if they are plastic coated.

Lowes and HD carry Goop.

If you clean the chassis and the glued side with acetone first. Using one of the "glue all" type adhesives works really well. I usually solder some 18 or 16 gauge solid wire across both contacts by bending the pin in a loop and crimping it tightly to the wire. You can solder it to make it permanent. Since i always use a ground bus i try to position the cap so that the grounding lead goes directly straight up to the bus wire thus helping to support it.

silicone caulk (any color) with a clamp... no shipping clown will dislodge them from their position.~nT, posted on April 22, 2017 at 17:12:13
