That was a close call! For a second I thought my Sony Pro Walkman was passé. Nt, posted on January 30, 2021 at 05:26:49

I own a TASCAM DA-20 Mk2, but I haven't played it in years. I switched to an Alesis Masterlink hard-disc recorder in 2003 and now I'm using a TASCAM DA-3000 DSD recorder. DAT is basically obsolete nowadays. Why don't you buy one of the new TASCAM high-resolution digital recorders? They're very reasonably priced. Even their top-of-the-line DA-3000 DSD recorder is only $900 brand new. There are other models beginning in price at $100 and up. Furthermore, solid-state storage media is much less expensive than DAT. I now copy all my LPs to DSD128 with my TASCAM DA-3000. Good luck, John Elison |

If you want to spend that kind of money, I would recommend buying a brand new TASCAM DR-100 MkIII high-resolution digital recorder. It costs only $300 and will record PCM up through 24/192. It has both balanced and unbalanced I/O and built-in microphones. It records onto plug-in SD memory cards. |
I don't see the reels there. :( nt, posted on January 31, 2021 at 04:51:17
