Hey-Hey!!!,
now that I have put my back-up pair of Dynaco Mk.iii's into service I can listen to music and contemplate the hair puling experience I had earlier today.
I went messing about with the circuitry in my monoblock amps using the Dynaco A441 OPT. Got one modified and put her into service, sound OK, need two to be sure so started cutting the other one.
When run together( after the surgery) they misbehaved. tick-tick-tick or a sound like wiggling a carpenter saw by its handle. I can't think of any other way to describe it. ALso when the input was shorted at the linestage's mute button, they became quiet too. They are not attached to saftey ground except through the chassis ground of the pre amp, and thus could be doing some crazy talking to each other. When I cut HV to one, the other behaved itself.
They are about back to their original selves but still want an answer or some footprints through the dew to follow.
regards,
Douglas

could you post a schematic or other detailed description of the mods you performed?

Best regards,
