Hey there,

This message is specifically in regards to the Paradigm Minimonitors, which uses: "25mm (1") PTDâ„¢ pure-titanium dome and former, ferro-fluid damped/cooled", as a tweeter.

Do you guys feel like this speaker has a rather shrilly and lean sound in the highs? Granted, this is not a $2k monitor, but how do these tweeters compare to speakers with soft-dome and silk tweeters?

speaking generally. That is with very few exceptions

soft mylar domes sound smooth but roll-off highs.

metal domes shimmer but metallicly color upper vocals.

plated domes blend the 2.

textile domes are the best to date but suffer some tip breakup. This is heavily design dopendent. One can argueably say the same about the above but not nearly to this extent.

BTW, IMHO, look for one with a center neodymium ring magnet & a rear chamber.
