I was looking at getting some new speakers, and heard a few different pairs
and came across Mission speakers. They sounded great, but I don't know
anything about the company. Anyone have any info?

I found a used pair a few years ago and bought 'em on sound only. For the best info check out the website.

Mission has been in business for a long time. Not only do they make speakers but they also sell electronics. Their stuff has always been positively reviewed in the British press. Generally they are good speakers. Which models were you considering?

I am looking at the 771's. They really sound GREAT! I can get the first pair at retail, and the second pairt at 40% off. I think I might get the 2 pairs and just use them as my fronts and rear speakers. What do you think?

my closet is full of gear that I got a good/great deal on. Almost all of the gear is high-quality too. I'm slowly selling it off, now that I've realized I haven't used it much. So the actual cost of a good deal is much higher than I thought. The things that I listen to though, I spent close to retail on, bought from an established dealer, and took a long time to make up my mind (and spent more than I'd planned).

It sounds like you are being sucked in by the "chance to get a deal". I would move up the line a bit more. The margin on speakers is around 50%. That is the dealer cost is half the retail. The dealer needs to make money, but the question is how much.
