From the Audio magazine classified ads. :)


I checked the Audio & Stereo Review annual equipment directories in that general timeframe and the only similar Fried I turned up is the R/III in 1978. Looks like 400 bucks a pop.
You'll find that listing on magazine pg. 146 at the link below.

I'd expect very good things from Irving M. "Bud" Fried (FWIW), based on my limited (but nonzero) experience. :)

I saw them in the early 70's before Chaka Kahn when they were Ask Rufus

then again a short time later after she was fronting ... much better

strange to think that they arose from the ashes of the white bread band American Breed then turned into a dance / funk machine

The woofers are $200 each or thereabouts. I paid about half of that for two good used ones.

yeah but it's nice to have a source if used turns out to be frustrating. at one point, when KEF ceased production on their OEM drivers, things got dire.
