Can anyone explain these "swinging objects" in front of the driver cones as well as the "starburst grills" ?

There appears to a swinger of various sizes and shapes in front of all of the drivers suspended from chains and strings. Some are smaller and harder to see.

TIA

Goes to show how deluded some people are in believing this nonsense! Pity because there seems to be some quite good equipment buried under the junk.

Or has he found some magic that every speaker designer should follow? Will we soon be seeing speakers with floating objects dandling around them and covered in military shells, or are they sugar shakers?

Interesting photo though, but it's surely not hi-fi.

It reminds me of an unsolicited photograph that I was sent about 25 years ago. It showed a room with some audio gear and dozens of cardboard or paper tubes of various lenghts and diameters fixed to the ceiling and other surfaces.

The mental state of the unidentified person who sent it to me (how he got my address in unknown) can be judged by his accompanying note wherein he assured me that his system could be heard on Venus!

Looks like something someone designed while on LSD back in the late 1960s. ;-)

It appears to be a common thing. Found these images on an Asian site.

Must be their form of diffusers and first reflection point treatments.

Good analogy. I might have seen something similar back in the 1960's?

A shitload of them in various sizes, shapes, materials.

Used to help "tune" the room.

You can research them on the Tweakers board.

Interesting looking room in a ridiculous way.

The OCD owner has enough tweaky paraphernalia in there to seemingly
tweak each separate note that comes out of the speakers.

Kind of an audio temple room for the religion of excessive tweaks.

Even left space to kneel!

I assume a of of the stuff in the pic does too.
I'd tune the room by removing it.
All that metal could change the sound, but not likely improve it.

It didn't look anything like this, but photos reminded me of a local dealer years ago.

Norm was a really nice guy and ran a dealership out of his home. He loved to experiment. So he made a number of diffusion and reflection devices that he placed around the listening room. For one he placed thin wire baskets filled with scrap wood bits cut to various shapes. He placed those on the floor midway between each speaker and the listening chair to scatter reflections from floor bounce (yes, there was reason behind most of what he did).

But my favorite was the large wooden xylophone-like contraption he built. That was a frame made from 2x4s, maybe 5' long and 4' high. From the top bar he hung a line of various lengths of wooden dowels. Between each of those he hung long, narrow strips of aluminum or foil (no longer remember). The whole contraption was placed behind the listening seat.

He also considered ear elevation to be critical within less than one inch and so had a collection of cushions of various thicknesses for the listening seat to accommodate a range of listener heights.

There were more items I don't remember, enough that one had to be cautious when walking through the room. Sorry I don't have a photo of that.

Very true.
Upstairs over my garage is not just for the stereo. It's also band rehearsal space. Though I put a blanket over the drum kit, sometimes I still hear it droning along.

In the first pic, why does only one of the foreground amplifiers have a gold turtle atop it?

Well, one amp is on... the other is off.

Something melted into the turtle shape on the amp that is on! Hot amp!
