Looking for recommendations for the above for a bedroom system. I've done a search but haven't found convincing reviews for anything yet. Price, under $1500. I run a Spendor Classic based main system to give you an idea of the sound I like. Thanks.

In that budget I don't see anything else than active "home studio" monitor speakers.
There are a few well regarded models, from JBL, Adam,... you may find a lot if you google. But you won't find them on audiophile forums - not because they are not good, but they are usually considered "pro tools".

I would suggest Emotiva Airmotion Stealth 8 which has a 8 inch driver and airmotion tweeters for $1500.

Tannoy Reveal Studio monitors... I see them quite often on various websites... Many studios use Tannoy when mixing... They came in the blue shown and in a rusty red color....No grills though.

I've been pleased with my JBL 305p mkii, their smallest powered monitors, 5 in. woofer. Cost all of 238€ the pair, huge sound, great adjustability, good build quality for the price. Astonishing how much value for money. I'm sure the bigger ones would fill a decent sized room. Only downside is lack of RCA input but trs or XLR adapters are available.

The Adam speakers certainly deserve to be considered ..., posted on May 22, 2020 at 12:05:33

"audiophile" quality. I've got a pair of F7's for my second system. They are terrific.

Consider the Genelec G series with F series subwoofers. Great sound.

RCF Ayra 8 Pro

Have had a pair of the 8s for a few days now. I like them better than the JBLs, Tannoys and Yamaha HS series I've auditioned and/or owned. Unlike many, they run cold and are completely silent. Awesome bass power and extension and play loud. They also make smaller versions with 6.5" or 5" woofers. Some may prefer the smaller versions in smaller rooms and who knows, the smaller ones might even sound better in the midrange, but with less bass.

RCF is a famous name in quality pro audio.
