I have a pair of Sonus Faber Electa Amator 2's in my main system. For reference, the main components of my system include an LFD NCSE integrated, Ayre QB9-DSD DAC, VPI Scout/Dynavector 20XL5, Soundsmith MC pre, etc. I stream from TidalHiFi primarily.

As you might know, the EA2's are about 20 years old (I'm the 2nd owner, the first owner had them for 16 years). They're aesthetically beautiful, they sound full and luscious and work really well for vocals, jazz, strings, piano, guitar; most of the stuff I listen to. The drivers look fine and have no apparent deficiencies.

How long do the EA2's drivers realistically last for? Just curious so I thought I'd ask for thoughts on this subject on this forum.

Well, it's your standard silk dome tweeter and a paper composite woofer cone. The surround I believe is rubber?? It should last many more years under normal use.

The only thing I would do after 20 years is rotate the drivers 180 degrees, check all internal connections and possibly replace the capacitors. Other than that if you look in the ad section you will see speakers for sale that are 50+ years old.

Enjoy and don't worry.

Thanks airtime. Now that I'm retired I'm going to make "enjoy and don't worry" my mantra :-).

Have you tried them with something with more wattage than that integrated?
Lovely looking and sounding speakers, by the way. Maybe a touch rolled off in the highs.
As the other gentleman said, you should get many more years of pleasure from them.
