I posted a few weeks ago that my TC-50s still sounded pretty good after not being used for 5+ years.

This weekend I plugged them into an SMSL SA-60 T-amp so my college daughter could use them, and she wasted no time in blasting them. They sounded great playing rock, playing classical, and playing electronic jazz, all stuff she likes. They had way more bass than I remember, more than the DIY Frugal Horns that I have, and the imaging is still second to none. The SA-60 amp itself has more power than my tube amp, which I had tried with the TC-50s, but couldn't provide enough. They could play loud without much effort with the SMSL amp. Source as always was an iPhone using Spotify. I'm going to upgrade the source by using Tidal Masters on a MacBook and a Dragonfly to see how that will sound. I'm sure it'll sound good.

They were amazing speakers back in the day- no reason that they still are not great-
Your daughter is lucky to be able to start out at such a high level!
Happy Listening

I am using TIDAL HiRes streamed via my iMac or my iPad into Maggies 1D or Genesis towers and the sound it excellent. Way better than Spotify. I gave a pair of SPICAs to my nephew and he loves them. I hadn't used them for nearly 12 years!
