UltraFidelis in Milwaukee hosted an event with Richard Vandersteen last night. 5A Carbons were demoed with Audio Research gear. Very well attended. Those guys put out a really good spread of food and beer too. What a down to earth guy Vandersteen is. I left at 11pm and he was still answering questions from guests. Nice to meet the guy who made my speakers.

Well shoot, darn, heck, #*^&%@! I drove right by their store on Tuesday thinking that I really should stop in there once and talk to them. It's been almost a year since I've seen them and they are truly some great people. Always welcoming, helpful and just fun to talk to. Had I known about the event I would have stopped over for it. I see by your equipment list you must be a very good customer of theirs as the brands they carry coincide with your equipment right down the line. Darn! I missed a good one.

Got to meet him a few times and as you said, very down to earth.

Dean.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

As you know 5A's should be set up by a dealer with the appropriate knowledge and tools to do it right. When I moved my properly set up Vendersteens from New Jersey to Arizona, and Richard found out that I needed the speakers properly set up again, he spent hours with me via phone to properly set up my speakers once again. I was completely impressed that he did that for me. That's the kind of guy he is.

down to earth as Richard. Met him at a similar event in Albany NY some 10-12 years ago and was similarly impressed.
