I've shortlisted the TRX M300s. Wondering if anyone has heard them that might be willing share their impressions, comparisons, etc.

I have liked their amps at audio shows.

The amps are made by Line Magnetic in China. Just in case you were hoping for a non Chinese manufactured product

The company is called Triode Amplifiers and the amp uses pentodes.

Can you elaborate on that? These amps use 300Bs, yes? Do you mean the other tubes used? Is that not normal in an SET amp?

I guess what I'm asking is: Is this a directed heated single ended triode amp or not?

Thanks!

The output tube is a triode and directly heated. The other tubes are pentodes and in-directly heated.

There are a lot of designers that use pentode input tubes and driver tubes in their 300b amplifiers but their company name is not "Triode
Amplifier".

I just thought it was funny.

If you want my opinion? A true triode amplifier uses only triodes in all the amplification stages. But that could just be me. :-)

Not sure if this still applies but TRIODE Japan issued a statement on their website that they wouldn't supply parts or maintenance advice for any Japanese domestic purchased Amp that was exported

I've only ever owned their ( now out of production ) 845/300B Monoblocks pair and while these looked stunning and did a fine job of warming up a room, the sound was underwhelming...

They've been in business for years and are very popular in Japan

Ended up going with the AirTight 300B, which I was able to test in my listening room. Sounds fabulous.

Triode TRV-P845SE. Stereo 845 amp. About 25wpc.

I heard the integrated amp version at several shows, partnered with varied equipment. These rooms always vied for best of show. With much patience, I found a used model I could afford, and I have not looked back.

Surprising bass response, liquid tube midrange, clean extended treble. Outstanding soundstage- width, depth, height. DEAD quiet background- no hum with 92db efficient speakers. I feel this amp does not obscure or hide anything. If it is present, I will hear it.

Amp has a meter on the front used to monitor bias. I am the second owner, and have used this amp for about 4yrs. I adjusted bias shortly after purchase, and I check bias after each listening session. Bias has been rock steady for 4yrs.

25wpc has its limits, but I rarely heard anything out of the ordinary. Loud Rock will tax it, as will low efficiency speakers with demanding loads. Stay under "loud" and you will be well rewarded.

There are a lot of grey market sellers on Ebay and other venues. Authorized distribution in the US has been sporadic. If they will limit support for cross sold and grey market units, perhaps they are about to expand distribution in the US ? I hope so, as I think they will do very well after greater exposure. I would love to see reviews in US publications.

Amp was made by Line Magnetic.

I have owned the Triode Corporation of Japan, TRV300SER SET integrated amp, for about 3 years.
I had retired and sold off my reference setup and decided on this Triode for my modest retirement system. With some nice vintage tubes, I'm very pleased with it. Quality construction, IMHO great P/P ratio!

My research before buying turned up this:

Triode Corporation of Japan was started in the 1990's. The amps are designed in Japan and use only quality Japanese and European parts, but the amps were probably built in China at the same plant as Line-Magnetic. Point to point wired. They produce amps specifically for the N American market.
Based on this info I decided to buy.

Several of their amp's and pre amps have been reviewed on TAS, PF, Dagogo, & 6 moons.

Now, I see this on their updated website:http://triode.co.jp/english/index.html

"Triode Corporation was founded by its President Mr. Jun-ichi Yamazaki in Koshigaya Saitama in the year 1994. It started as a small business in his garage with the goal of creating a very high-quality Audio Amplifier products that can be sold worldwide at affordable price, targeting tube lovers that only wants real music and nothing else. After a few years, Triode began to attract attention from all over the world and expanded its lineup of tube electronics that include very high-quality models. Triode has about 20 models of tube amplifiers and are well known for its high-quality sound and reliability. With this goal achieved, in 2014, Jun-ichi Yamazaki ventured to a more sophisticated design of tube electronics brand that not only sound natural and real but using some of the best components available in the market. He called this high-performance model the "JUNONE". The name is fitted to be called the number "One" because of its overall performance. Now, it is the 25th year anniversary of Triode corporation and Jun-ichi Yamazaki wants to show its customers all over the world that Triode does not stop developing new technology that create real music. So, he created what he called the milestone of his work, the MUSASHI and the TRZ-300W."
