 I have a small single ended DIY tube amp that that I wanted to upgrade and I was looking for a good person do this some work on it in Brooklyn, NY. Any recommendations?

 Try the link below. I have no experience with them, but I believe they are an authorized service center for Audio Note. Probably worth contacting to see if they can do the work you need. Perhaps others will weigh in with personal experience.

 Ben Jacoby does superb work and his pricing is fair. His queue tends to be *very* long, so set up something to keep you in music until he gets to it. Blackie Pagano in Manhattan also does good work. They have both worked on my gear.

 Can't remember the exact problem, but he had some kind of physical injury and was scaling back. I think he wants to do more selling and less repair work. Talked to him a couple months ago or so.

A pretty knowledgeable setup/tech I know rec'd Blackie Pagano to me just recently. I have no experience with Pagano yet, but if Ben is unable/unwilling next time I'll call Pagano.

 How much an hour is a fair pricing? $120? I've seen Ben's labor cost on AN pre or dac upgrade in the range of a couple of grands or was it a $4k just for the labor in some Audiogon listing ? Audio Note stuff is as simple as it gets. It's hard to buy a simpler circuits anywhere but it is a bitch to work those boards.

 All I know is that what Ben charged to resurrect and upgrade a VTL preamp seemed good to me when I paid the bill. When I got it home and heard how much he improved it (mostly a stiffer power supply) I was very happy.
