Is this the great lost "Classic Rock tm" album of the last century, or what? Some people call it funk, some people call it rock. Man, I call it PsychadelicRockFunkSoulMuzick... or something. If you don't know this album, go get it and let yourself be taken to places you didn't know existed.

How about this bunch? I have 6 or 7 albums by this Motown act, and although there are sticky ballads on every one of them, the psychedelic-rock-soul-funk stuff, with lots of wah wah guitar and spacy strings, makes em all worth having.

Robert

he dutchman. Die gasten maakten goeie muziek of niet soms. Geproduceerd door Norman Whitfield, natuurlijk. Dat kan haast niet fout gaan.

It's either Law Of the Land or Ball Of Confusion. Both singles entered the charts in Holland, although without much succes.

Hi,

FunkadelicĀ“s Maggot Brain is my favorite, with a guitar solo at the first song with so much felling that you could cry.

Wladimir

Dutchman, those guys made some good music, didn't they? Produced by Norman Whitfield, ofcourse. Things can't go wrong with him nbehind the boards.

Sure, that song is just one great big guitar solo. George Clinton asked Eddie Hazel (the guitar player) to think about something sad. He thought about his mother, who just died. And then started playing. Now that's sad.

...the other riders of the Rocky Road might like to get your point too, but it's nice to have a fellow Dutchman around. I'm a sucker for the late 60's, early 70's mix op funk, soul and psychedelica: Undisputed Truth, Graham Central Station, Sly & Family Stone, Funkadelic, Rufus, etc.

Robert

I believe "Robert Cray is a blues master" is the correct translation.

Go spin those old War albums!! Not funky, but man, does it have soul.

I've got all their prime albums and saw one of their gigs some years ago. It was a blast. Also one of their lesser known albums, with the odd title 'Black Radio Won't Play This' happened to be quite good.
They are still touring Holland almost every year.
So yeah, they do fit in. Great band!
